Brooklyn Movie Tour
€30 per person*
Brooklyn is a superb adaptation by Nick Hornby of local author Colm Toibin’s award-winning book set in Enniscorthy and New York in the early 50s. The film tells the story of an Irish girl making her way to New York after being lured into the American dream. It is a film that appeals to all audiences and tugs and plays with your emotions.
But you don’t have to travel to Hollywood to see the set of Brooklyn because it was filmed right here in Enniscorthy. This is what makes it all the more unique. It was filmed on the actual streets and in the places named in the book!
On the Brooklyn Movie Bus Tour it will be possible to visit the actual streets and places that enthralled you when you watched the movie. John St, Court St, The Folly, Mrs Kelly’s shop, The Athenaeum and St Aidan’s Cathedral.
We will visit the beautiful Curracloe Beach, no stranger itself to movie making. This beautiful pristine beach was also the set for the film Saving Private Ryan.
At tours end you can pay a visit to the new Brooklyn Movie & 1950s Lifestyle Exhibit in Enniscorthy Castle. Here you will see memorabilia and props from the movie itself and experience life in 1950s Ireland.
